Happy 75th anniversary, PR News!
Yesterday we toasted publisher Diane Schwartz as the newsletter reached yet another milestone anniversary. As the world's longest continuously run PR newsletter, it has been the field's booster and chronicler since World War II. Celebrating with us was a jam-packed ballroom at the Grand Hyatt, where 100 of the most accomplished women in the field were about to be honored on stage, with hundreds of colleagues and family cheering them on.
The green button, "PRoud to be in PR," was created by the newsletter's founder, Denny Griswold, who handed it out to hundreds and hundreds whom she would meet over the next 50 years while still running the newsletter. This is one of those buttons, handed out at a PR event in the late 70s and never worn until yesterday.
